Appearance: Reddish purple. A little cloudy
Nose: Fruit punch-y. Red fruits, floral potpourri, and candy notes are present. Had a hint of Swedish fish or black liquorish. Also some cherry and toasted oak can be detected in the smell.
Pallet: Licorice and smoke. This wine tastes like a stuffy antique store. It is spicy with chili pepper flavor and what could only be described as dustiness.
Finish: Delightful red fruits, smokiness, and a touch of sulfur on the back end.
Overall: Not the best. All the flavors were running in their own directions. It was as though they couldn’t cross paths long enough, to balance the wine enough to really enjoy it. Each sip had just that little something that makes you go… “ehhh….”. There are better Cote-Du-Rhone wines out there for the same price and of far better quality.
